A multi-part plastic artillery kit produced by Games Workshop for Warhammer 40,000. Representing the subterranean siege warfare of the Cthonian Mining Guilds, these platforms send advanced target-tracking munitions tunneling directly through the earth to destabilize enemy strongpoints from below.
Note: Miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly.
The box contains 87 plastic components that assemble two Cthonian Earthshaker siege weapons along with their crews:
Weapon Variants: The barrels can be customized to represent two distinct types of subterranean ordnance.
Crew Options: Each artillery piece is accompanied by a three-man crew. The crew members feature interchangeable heads, bodies, and left arms.
Ironkin Companion: The robotic Ironkin crew members can be modeled carrying different styles of ammo payloads.
Bases & Extras: Includes 2x Citadel 80mm Round Bases (for the weapons) and 2x Citadel 25mm Round Bases (for the crew). It also features sculpted base toppers and cosmetic accessories like ammo boxes, a mining axe, and two breacher shells bursting from the dirt.
Decals: Packaged with a massive Leagues of Votann transfer sheet containing 555 waterslide transfers.
Warhammer 40,000 Gameplay RoleOn the tabletop, a unit of Cthonian Earthshakers functions as an indirect fire artillery squad (costing 110 points for the pair) with a pair of highly specialized firing profiles:
Tremor Shells: A long-range option (36", D6+4 attacks, Strength 6, AP -1, Damage 1) that triggers the Destabilising Quakes ability, forcing any target hit to take a Battle-shock test with a -1 penalty.
Breacher Ordnance: A short-range, heavy anti-armour payload (24", D6+1 attacks, Strength 10, AP -1, Damage 2) backed by the Geomantic Hunters rule, allowing you to completely re-roll wound rolls up to twice per battle.
Defensive Profile: While slow (4" movement), they are surprisingly resilient with a Toughness 6 and 6 Wounds per model, and they can fight back in close quarters using their S5 AP-2 Plasma Picks.
