A Bit About Us:

  Hey hobby fam!

My name is Travis Propper. My wife (Jess) & I own Tillsonburg's Hobby Central. We are a small family that lives in Tillsonburg, ON. I grew up in and around the area and have always wanted a store that could bring my community together in a positive way. With 3 very busy boys, my Wife & I decided to open a hobby store, during Covid year no less, BUT we had no idea how much of a positive impact that decision would have with my family and our community.

It is so hard to believe that we opened our doors in July of 2020! The store has continued to grow so much over these years & we may have moved a few times, but we are still here & just as enthusiastic about serving our community since day 1! Being able to help out our customers, friends & family members discover new hobbies or experience the joy of reliving them is such a joy.

My family does a variety of different hobbies, so that's why when you step into our store, (or take a gander at the online store,) there is a "little" bit of everything. There is a high chance that you might discover a new family tradition or that perfect gift, and we are always interested in learning something new, so feel free to ask us if we carry whatever you are looking for. There are so many different types of hobbies out there it is hard to carry everything!

Some of my personal interests are R.C. (remote control) vehicles, (so I make sure to carry a variety of parts & accessories,) I have also dabbled in Warhammer 40k, thanks to my oldest boy, (who plays the Astra Militarum army.) My army is Space Wolves, so I made sure to try and carry everything we might need, like spray cans (for basing,) acrylic & enamels paints, glues and even different textures for decorating the bases! I also love puzzles, (mainly 1000pc & 2000pc,) for that hobby I carry a variety of picture themes, mainly from Eurographics & Cobble Hills. Plus I have puzzle frames & puzzle accessories - like roll matts, storage/ sorting trays & puzzle glue. I have also tried plastic modeling, that is my newest hobby, I am enjoying everything about it though, so I made sure to stock a variety of models as well! From planes to trains, cars to tanks, boats, dinosaurs and the list goes on. My middle son loves board games, so we also made sure to carry a variety in that hobby too, right now we are playing a games called Spirit Island and I honestly cannot think of a better time than sitting with my family and playing a game that teaches team-work, critical thinking and unlike Monopoly you get to have FUN! My youngest boy is obsessed with with Hot Wheels & stickers, so we made sure to have both of those hobbies in the store as well, unfortunately those items are only available to look at in-store and are not accessible on our website. My Wife is not your typical girls-girls, so we do not have the standard crafting/ artsy items, but she is very artistic and loves to create, for her hobbies we brought in Book Nook model kits, diamond art & like my middle son MORE board games, she is also a huge Horror/ Hallowe'en girl so we have a variety Halloween movies, Horror themed board games & stickers.

We also carry other hobbies such as HTV (heat transfer vinyl) like Siser Easywood & Oracle 651 Permanent Vinyl, card accessories like card sleeves & storage boxes. We are also venturing into accenting background pieces for those Diorama enthusiasts, so be sure to ask us about it when in the store or message us through our Facebook page, the links are located on our home page.

Like I said we wanted to make sure that everyone in our community gets to experience the joys of experiencing a hobby, whether for themselves or for their family. My store has one goal in mind: "Ensuring that everyone who leaves our store feels like family." We want others to be able to experience those joys and at an affordable price!

Thank you for taking the time to read about my family and I and hopefully this gives you a little more insight into why supporting small businesses matters most. Because when you choose to support a small local business you are choosing to support a small local family. Have a blessed day hobby fam!
