A premium, water-based acrylic paint manufactured by Games Workshop.
Safe and non-toxic, it is optimized for application across plastic, resin, and metal wargaming miniatures.
Widely utilized for painting dark brown fur or hides (such as Beastmen or Chaos Warhounds), brown-haired characters, and dark skin tones.
It is also highly effective as a starting point for recreating mahogany or dark wood-grain effects.
This makes it ideal for building smooth transitions, layering colors, and adding sharp edge highlights without obscuring underlying textures.
Formulated specifically for the Citadel Paint System, "Layer" paints feature a lower pigment concentration than Citadel Base paints, resulting in a slightly translucent finish.
