Shriek is heavily inspired by the meta-horror of the Scream franchise and shifts the game into a highly thematic, deduction-heavy experience:
Note: As with all Feature Films, a copy of the Final Girl Core Box is required to play.
The Killer: Mort the Teenage Dirtbag. Mort moves through the map disguised in masks belonging to iconic killers from previous Final Girl seasons.
Mega BGCon (a massive board game convention). The map is filled with crowds of gamers who refuse to leave the convention floor, requiring you to deliberately "create a panic" to move them safely. It features inside-joke items like heavy board game boxes, hall bags, box cutters, and deodorant.
Unlike standard Final Girl feature films where you immediately hunt down the threat, Mort’s identity is initially hidden among 10 cosplaying suspects on the board. You must leverage an interrogation and clue mechanic (using a special red viewfinder component) to find five pieces of information to unmask the real killer before you can deal any damage.
Features two new playable characters, Morin and Adrian, who introduce entirely new progression and utility styles unique to this box.
