An 8 fl. oz. refill bottle of catalyst spray designed to instantly cure cyanoacrylate (CA / super glue) adhesives. It forces the glue to polymerize and harden in 6 to 8 seconds, even when applied in thick, gap-filling layers.
It is typically used to replenish smaller 2 oz. pump spray bottles.
Unlike aggressive activators that can melt delicate materials, Insta-Set is safe for all surfaces, including clear plastics, white hobby foam (Styrofoam), wood, and metals.
According to Bob Smith Industries instructions, there are three primary ways to utilize the accelerator:
Joint Seaming (Most Common): Press your two parts together with CA glue in the joint. Spray the accelerator directly onto the seams where the excess glue squeezes out to lock the pieces instantly.
Reinforcing Joints: Apply a primary joint, then run an additional external bead of thick CA glue along the seam. Spraying it with Insta-Set creates an incredibly strong external weld.
Opposite Surface Application: For difficult-to-bond materials, spray the accelerator onto one mating surface and apply the CA glue to the other. They will bond the exact moment they touch.
The chemical reaction generated by forcing CA glue to cure instantly releases heat. Avoid applying excessive amounts of glue and accelerator together on natural fibers (like cotton clothing), as it can cause a severe chemical burn or smoke.
Never store your accelerator bottle in the same closed box or bag as your CA glues. The vapors from the accelerator can seep through plastic containers and prematurely solidify all your expensive super glues.
