Non-toxic, water-based acrylic paint.
Unlike typical matte chalky whites, Wraithbone dries with a uniquely smooth satin-matte skin. This specialized surface allows thin Citadel Contrast Paints to glide easily out of recesses and sit neatly on raised flat panels without pooling awkwardly.
Even though it is a light color, it belongs to the Base family. It provides surprising single-layer coverage over dark gray or black undercoats without forcing the painter to apply thick layers that choke model details.
Light whites can split easily if over-thinned with raw water. For perfect, streak-free layers, hobbyists suggest breaking it down on a palette using a dedicated acrylic paint medium rather than plain tap water.
It features a smooth, soft, warm off-white bone tone specifically designed to preserve detail and allow other translucent colors to react with maximum brightness. It is famous in the hobby world as one of the two mandatory "smooth" baseline colors engineered to interact perfectly with the Citadel Contrast paint range.
