The Spearhead: Slaves to Darkness - Darkoath Raiders is a pre-constructed army box set for Warhammer Age of Sigmar's fast-paced Spearhead game mode. This box represents a brutal, aggressive human tribal force dedicated to the Chaos Gods, packaged as a complete, out-of-the-box army that offers a financial saving compared to buying the individual kits separately.
The set contains 26 multipart plastic miniatures that build the complete Spearhead force:
1x Darkoath Warqueen: The army's commander and primary Hero.
10x Darkoath Savagers: Fierce frontline infantry, including a magical Godspeaker support model.
10x Darkoath Marauders: The fragile, exploding backbone horde of the tribe (utilizes reinforcements).
5x Darkoath Fellriders: Highly agile light cavalry mounted on aggressive steeds.
The Darkoath Raiders feature a high-risk, high-reward playstyle focused on speed, trickery, and objective control:
Oaths of Darkness: The faction's core battle trait. Players reveal a battle tactic card as a literal "vow" to the Dark Gods. Successfully completing the tactic fulfills the oath, yielding powerful, lingering command abilities that do not count against your standard hand limits. Failing an oath leaves you empty-handed.
At the start of a match, players can lean into two distinct playstyles:
Rage of Arkhar: Adds +1 to the Rend characteristic of melee weapons for a unit once per turn, boosting raw armor-cracking damage.
Fearless Invaders: Allows a friendly unit to retreat from combat without suffering mortal damage and still execute a charge later in the same turn, maximizing hit-and-run tactics.
While incredibly fast and capable of sudden bursts of critical damage, the army is highly fragile with low health pools and poor armor saves. Precision and positioning are vital to avoid being steamrolled.
