The Freeguild Fusiliers represent the disciplined blackpowder gunline of the Mortal Realms. These ordinary human soldiers form defensive, interlocking portable walls on the battlefield to unleash devastating volleys from afar.
The kit builds 11 miniatures in total: 10 Freeguild Fusiliers and 1 Blackpowder Squire. It consists of 115 plastic components.
It includes ten Citadel 28.5mm Round Bases (for the gunners, accommodating their wider footprints and pavise shields) and one Citadel 25mm Round Base (for the Squire).
Each Fusilier is armed with a heavy, bayonet-tipped fusil-cannon and a massive hardwood pavise shield designed to slot into the ground like a portable fortress battlement. The kit allows you to construct a Fusil-Sergeant (who can wield a brace of pistols or a triple-barrelled slaughter-fusil) and a Fusilier Herald carrying an ornate standard and torch.
In the Cities of Sigmar army book, Fusiliers excel when they are allowed to stand still. They have rules enabling them to Fortify, locking their heavy pavise shields into the dirt. While fortified, their defensive stats spike significantly, and their fusil-cannons gain enhanced range or accuracy traits, making them incredibly difficult to shift from center-field objectives without dedicated flanking maneuvers.
