A specialized weathering kit designed to create authentic, real corrosion on scale models and miniatures. 
Unlike standard acrylic paints that mimic the color of rust, this set relies on a genuine chemical reaction to oxidize iron particles right on your model.
The box includes a two-part chemical system designed to work sequentially:
Special Acrylic Paint (AK11266): A matte, water-based acrylic base coat heavily embedded with micro-fine iron particles.
Oxidizing Agent (AK11268): A bottle containing a fluid catalyst that forces the iron particles to chemically corrode when exposed to the air.
Shake the AK11266 bottle very well. Brush a relatively thick coat onto the parts of your miniature where you want rust to form. Make sure the iron particles are well distributed rather than just spreading the paint binder, Allow the base acrylic paint to dry completely. Brush the AK11268 Oxidizing Agent directly over the dried base coat. Do not oversaturate or cause massive pooling unless you are targeting deep, crusted buildup.
Let the model sit. The catalytic agent reacts naturally with the oxygen in the air, transforming the black iron paint into textured, orange-brown rust over several hours or overnight.
